This week’s app: Peekaboo Barn

This fantastic app from Night & Day Studios is the simple game of peekaboo with animals. Press play when the app loads and you’ll see simple graphics of a barn and hear an animal noise.  Tap the barn doors to see who’s inside making all the noise.

Why it’s a GEM (Great Early Literacy Material):

Children love playing peekaboo. This app ties the animal’s noise with a graphic of the animal and how to spell the animal’s name – creating a connection in the brain between what the child is seeing and hearing. There is so much here, adult and child will have plenty to play with. You can change the language for a new experience and the voice can be personalized.
