This week’s app: Bubbles
This is the cardboard box of apps. It’s simple, basic and inexpensive. And kids LOVE it. You don’t have to purchase an expensive app to impress your young child. Give them Bubbles! This app not only allows your child to pop bubbles with a tap of their finger, but they can create them as well, in different sizes, shapes and colors.
Why it’s a GEM (Great Early Literacy Material):
Playing is part of early literacy skill development. Through play, children learn about their world. This app brings simple bubble fun to their fingertips anywhere they want it – car ride, plane ride or anytime. Encourage your child to say *pop* when they tap the screen to pop a bubble. You can also sing a song about popping bubbles! Words, play, songs and bubbles = priceless.
10 Little Bubbles (From: Read, Sing Play!)
(Tune: 10 Little Indians)
One little, two little, three little bubbles
Four little, five little, six little bubbles
Seven little, eight little, nine little bubbles
Ten little bubbles go POP POP POP
Pop, pop, pop, let’s pop those bubbles
Pop, pop, pop, let’s pop those bubbles
Pop, pop, pop, let’s pop those bubbles, at the library! (insert: wherever you are!)
All of the apps reviewed in Appy Monday! are available on the iPads located in the Picture Book Room here at the Vernon Area Public Library!
